I met Shelley during the years I was working on the AAUW’s Sister to Sister project. In the midst of moving loads from washer to dryer, we shared the challenges we face helping younger sisters understand the world of social challenge they enter as they move to high school. Her sense of humor suffused her wisdom, her wish to help others outstripped this busy time in her life. The many times I met her, we exchanged meaningful dialogue. These chance events meant much to me in the solitude of caregiving through which I was living at the time. May the sorrow of loss leave you something golden.
